BATHURST Aero Club’s open day attracted visitors from all over the region as those with an interest in aviation took the opportunity to learn more about flying. The Club was excited to share the aviation community with the broader community to create awareness of the industry.

The club’s hangar was a hive of activity as visitors had the chance to look at a number of planes, go for a trial instruction flight or try out a flight simulator.

Club Vice-President Ian Johnson was responsible for organising the day, and the club was delighted with the turnout of a few hundred people throughout the day.

During the day, guests also took the opportunity to try the club’s flight simulator, which was popular.

Perfect weather and a great crowd with lots of children! Some teens and adults showing enthusiasm toward learning to fly. Well done BAC and particularly Ian Johnson for Championing this highly successful event. Special thanks to the Bathurst Soaring Club for their glider exhibition and to all the aircraft owners who displayed their aircraft on the day. Big thank you to all the club members who volunteered their time on the day and Greg and Sandy for great lunch! Hopefully, we can have another open day sometime in the future!
